70 000 Tons Of Metal 2024

An inimitable music metal festival on a cruise ship: 60 bands, 3000 metalheads, 75 nationalities for 5 days of pure madness, non-stop music from 10 am to 6 am

The Halo Effect

We start with a big musical slap: The Halo Effect. formed in 2019 in Gothenburg, Sweden by Mikael Stanne (Singing - Dark Tranquillity, ex In Flames) and Niclas Engelin (Guitar - ex In Flames) with the aim of playing Melodic Death Metal the old way. In 2020, the duo teamed up with Peter Iwers (Bass - ex In Flames), Daniel Svensson (Drums - ex In Flames) and Jesper Strömblad (Guitar - ex In Flames, ex Hammerfall, ex Nightrage) to compose their first album, Days Of The Lost. It was released in 2022 by Nuclear Blast Records and shows a mix between Dark Tranquillity and In Flames.

The band consists of four members, each wearing a pseudonym and a mask. The singer, Georg Neuhauseur, who presents himself as a Roman Tribune, Christian Rodens on the bass who takes the role of the Viking, the guitarist Markus Pohl as Crusader, and finally Steffen Theurer who plays the role of the Spartan on drums. Each represents a known figure from different historical periods
